Anarchy: A Jounal of Desire Armed
Yeah, I know... you're thinking that it must be a magazine about lawlessness & destruction, bomb-throwing & chaos, riots & looting, breaking windows & starting fires—the end of civilization. Turns out that it's about none of these things at all. Instead, it's about individuals who voluntarily come together in the hope of creating a truly free society. So before you check out this great mag containing the latest in anti-authoritarian thought, you might want to first check out this globally agreed-upon definition of anarchism. Then for extra-credit, you might want to ask yourself why the culture in which you live would rather you not know about this truly self-empowering concept.

The Hacker Quarterly. Even if you're not a hacker, you should still pick this up—if only to read the letters that get sent in. Hackers are not trying to steal your credit card numbers. They're just people who discover the weaknesses in poorly-designed computer programs, network protocols, and social power structures. Then they publicly share their observations. Then the Establishment sings, "Heavens, NO! Not free speech! Not information sharing! You must not question! You must blindly obey! Free-thinking is immoral! Hackers are EVIL!" (ho-hum)
